Arsenal players celebrating after Giroud opener

Arsenal cruised to a 5-0 win over Aston Villa at Emirates Stadium to move back up to fifth in the Premier League.

ospina      13: David Ospina      8/10

Not tested until the end where he made 2 great saves to keep his 4th clean sheet. It seems that he has to make a few mistakes before allowing Szczesny back in as No.1

Bell      39: Hector Bellerin      8.5/10

Every time he gets a chance, he grabs it with both hands and feet. he seems to be getting better every time we see him. Has pace to burn. Defensively assured today and bagged his 1st arsenal goal with a composed finish.

 Mert      4: Per Mertesacker      8/10

Good game from Merts. Confident on the ball. He nearly set up Akpom from the left wing with some nice play.

Koscielny      6: Laurent Koscielny      8/10

Koscielny was Koscielny. Never looked troubled throughout the 90 minutes. Solid.

Monreal      18: Nacho Monreal      8/10

Another solid performance from Nacho. Good defensively who also provided a decent attacking outlet on the left.

Theo      14: Theo Walcott      7/10

A strange game from Theo. Struggled to get into the game. Had a few chances that he should of done better with. Scored a great goal off a great run. Getting back to full fitness slowly.

Coq      34: Francis Coquelin      8.5/10

Everyone suddenly can’t get enough of Coq. 5 tackles made. 5 tackles won. 92% pass accuracy. Does what he needs to do. Will sign a new long-term contract soon.

Ramsey      16: Aaron Ramsey      7/10

A bit like Theo, struggled to get into the game at times. Worked hard all game as usual and was unlucky not to score with a shot stinging Guzan’s palms.

MESUT-OZIL      11: Mesut Özil      9/10   MOTM

That’s 2 goals in 2 games from Ze German who has come back from his injury looking refreshed and rejuvenated. Scored a nice goal and set up Giroud, which will surely get assist of the season.

SantiCazorla      19: Santi Cazorla      8.5/10

Is Santi in the form of his career? Another brilliant display from the magician. His ambidextrousness makes him so comfortable on the ball. Got lucky with the penalty, but it went in and that’s the main thing.

oliver-giroud      12: Olivier Giroud      8/10

Seems to be hitting a purple patch at the moment. Long may it last. Only thing letting him down at times is his decision making. He received the ball 6 yards from goal and instead of shooting, he looked for the 1-2. Got himself a goal and as assist.
